How often do you 'Pay-it-Forward'? Now's your chance

As a salesperson, I have spent quite some time studying the keys to success.  Often time, there is a little apparent difference between someone who succeeds in sales and someone who does not.  Two new Real Estate Agents may have equal educational background, experience, and intelligence.  One will become a top producer.  The other will struggle to survive.

Why will one individual out of ten rise to the pinnacle of sales success while others fall by the wayside?  I read this book by Dave Herschman several times called More Income with Less Stress which summarizes the traits of top producers.  If you have these traits, you will flourish.  If you don't, you must improve or fail.  It's that simple.

Here in ActiveRain, I have found many inspirational bloggers and have shared them with you.  I have subscribed to their post because I was touched by something they said or a response they provided.  I know there are MANY more that I have never met before.  Let's face it, out of 130K members, its impossible to know everyone.  I am looking to add to my list of blog subscriptions.  Do you have someone that you can share with me?  Someone that writes inspirational posts, helpful tips, or any other reason that made you hit the Subscribe Button.

This is an opportunity to pay it forward.  Share this person with others.

I'd like to take a moment to thank you in advance for sharing this person with me (or people if you have more than one). I'd also like to thank you for subscribing to my blog.  Whether I made you laugh or provided a helpful tip once, each time you read my post I know it was worth while.  I try to write something that others will enjoy.  Perhaps if I reach out to more, then more will reach back.

John - I would be happy to suggest someone that I really enjoy reading.  In fact, I wrote a post about it awhile back (what a shock, huh?): Welcome Back, My Friend!

I think an intelligent sales person is innate. Those that try to hard...don't cut the cake.  A good sales person does not lead a customer in the wrong direction, however, they give them pertinent information to make an astute and informed decision on their own.  JMHO.  Karen

Ah, if only success were as simple as reading a book.  Now I am not downplaying the significance of eduaction and the value of inspirational words.   When I hear "pay it forward", to me it starts with the inspirational idea or words, yet requires an action be performed in an attempt to accomplish the idea.

For me, I am good with mechanical things, I have given free tire changes to people I saw on the side of the road, I would start the car for free when carbureators would often flood.  Just in the spirit that whatever they were good at, they would pass it along for free to someone in need.

It will take me a little while to see how blog subscriptions accomplish this, but I am still teachable.

Jim,

It's not as simple as reading a book...as the old saying goes, "You can't judge a book by it's cover."

I'm thinking, most people do not trust sales people and books have been written that say people in sales are the easiest to sell.

I'm thinking (again), that people who work in sales, who inform their customers to make educated decisions with their help...not force are those who will succeed.

Are you understanding my comments?   :-)

I pay it forward everytime I blog or talk to someone.  Great post!

Wonderful post...I believe it should always be on our minds the "pay it forward" thinking.  There is a most rewarding feeling when in that frame of thought and it will inevitably put you in many "right" places at the "right" time.

I think you know everyone that I hang out with, but I like the idea of this post.

Jason - Looks like you are the only one that wants to share.  I will certainly check out Elizabeth's blog.  I appreciate you providing the link.  I know I have seen her around AR but don't think I have read a post yet.  I think its great that you took the time to write about someone you met in the rain.  Not only is it a testament of who they are, but also the type of person that you are as well.  I do my best to pay-it-forward when I can.

Karen - Good example of a good sales person.  Thanks!

Jim - In no way would reading a book make you successful. Sounds like you agree, based on your tone.  My point was only that it sparked me thinking about people within ActiveRain that you took an interest in.  Someone that has helped you become successful or helped you modify your way of thinking or technique.

Tony - Is there someone that i should follow as well?  I agree that adding comments is a great form of paying it forward.  Im personally trying to reach out to more.  Any suggestions?

Tina - Thank you for agreeing.  Thats for goal for all of us I think.

JL - Im sure you know SOMEONE that I don't know and follow.  Unless of course you cheated and read my list?  j/k

Hi John,

I was noticing the same thing, no one was responding to your request.  But Elizabeth Nieves recommended by Jason Crouch is one to communicate with.  Now let me think, who else, I'll get back to you in a few.

Good idea John.  I think you know most who I subscribe to?  I have so many!  Here's two blondes - Cherimie Crane & Cristal Drake!

Angelia  You are right, no one paid attention to it (at first anyway).  Thank you for providing a great list.  I'll certainly check them out tonight.

Kristin - I know I have seen you comment on some of the posts I comment on, but I do not recall these two names.  Thanks for sharing.  I am looking forward to reading some post this evening.

John, A very interesting post that seems to have brought you some well deserved attention. I always read your comments wherever they may be either on my post or on others. You show that you are truly interested in what others have to say and anyone who you subscribe to should be honored...

Thank you Debra.  I will for sure check them all out.

Paul - Thank you for the kind words.  Im sure there are plenty of times I could elaborate but for the most part I try to provide some feedback.  I dont really care for the GPTFS comments.

Debra - I just realized that I talk with Tamara on twitter sometimes.  I didn't even realize she was on AR.  See how much I need to expand?  Thanks again!

John - I subscribed to so many for unique reasons. For one, I do subscribe to your blog because I want to know what you have to say. That's why I'm on here tonight.

I want to share some of the bloggers with you:

Missy Caulk, Marchel Peterson and Elizabeth Nieves - They are mothers I hope someday I would be.

Bill Gasset, Broker Bryant - Have become friends I bounce ideas off of.

Jennifer Allan - is my friend and former coach. She brought out the best in me, that I thought I never had. She also showed me how I could be myself in the sales profession.

Katerina Gasset - I admire her for the Vision Board and the umph to get things done the right way.

Lisa  Hill - For sticking to her guns for not paying for SEO.

Lenn Harley - She is just too smart. I love her opinions.

Heather Goodwin, Sheldon Neal, Chris Somers, Erica Ramus, Sharon Paxson, Karen Rice - for becoming my friends through AR.

Bob Stewart, Jon Washburn, Brad Andersohn - How could you not want updates about AR?

Jessica Bigger - I'm cheering her success on.

Ardell Dellalogia - For blogging great things about me back when I didn't know what I was doing.

There are many more on my subscription list.

Not gonna go there. Publicly anyway. :-)  I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Some I like for their style and content and some I just like for no particular reason.  There are so many that I like and of course, as we all know, there are some that stand head and shoulders above the rest.

Posted by Shirley Parks, Broker 210-414-0966 San Antonio TX Homes for Sale (Sands Realty 210-414-0966) over 3 years ago

Wow Loreena.  That is quite a list and for many great reasons.  Some I do subscribe to now, but not many of them.  I'll subscribe and check them out.  Thanks for sharing!

Good points Shirley.  I hope no one is offended by being added or not added to this list.  I am sure there are still MANY great and inspirational writers out there.  After all, we do have 130K members now.  I think I am officially subscribed to about 80+  I think that gives me plenty of reading material.

If you anyone else sees someone not on the list, please feel free to add them.  I realize everyone's taste is different.  Someone that may write a style that you like may not go well with what I like.  Thats okay.  I am looking to introduce myself to many and will figure out the rest later.

Thanks again!

John-No problem about the names...that is funny about Tamara.  There are plenty more that I subscribe to.  Those were the first 3 on the list yesterday though.  If you are ever looking for anymore just let me know.  It is hard because there are so many people here-my subscription list is very long.
