Each year our city has a parade. It has been going for many many years. It’s a way to bring the community together. That’s what is so cute about Frisco. We have over 100K residents, but we still try to keep the ‘small town’ feel.
As with most parades, there is a theme and it changes each year. This year, the theme is “Salute the Troops”. All floats are encouraged to show support to our troops and our country. Everyone is invited and may even participate. Typically, we see unique floats from local schools, churches, businesses, and not just from Frisco. Many of the surrounding areas participate as well like McKinney, Little Elm, and The Colony.
When - Saturday 11/8/08 @ 11:00 am
Where – Main Street
Route – East on Main Street from Pizza Hut Park to Downtown Frisco
So, if you live in Frisco Texas or any of our surround areas, come on out and join the fun! The more the merrier!
You are still able to register your business, church, or any other organization. Not interested in registering to be in the parade? Well, we also need volunteers. You can’t have a successful parade without a great support group!

I think anything saluting the troops is a great idea.
Great idea, keep promoting John. I line your logo too.
JL - The parade is usually pretty successful. There are a lot of poeple that come out. I'm with you, love the theme.
Fred - Hey stranger. I hope all is well. Thanks for the compliment of the logo.
That is so cool John. Our country has really grown up since Vietnam. I would hate to be in that crowd if someone spit on our troops in Frisco...
John, It sounds like fun and it is so good that we remember out troops. Our son just got home this afternoon for his 3 week R&R from this tour of Iraq. I was visiting a friend in San Diego so we ended up flying in at the same time. He's beat from the long haul in getting here but we are thrilled to have him home.
Paul - Hopefully we never experience that. Its a large crowd, but very much family oriented, so we don't really have those issues (knock on wood).
Marchel - It goes without saying (although I'll say it anyway)... We are all happy he is home safely and we are very proud of him. I like that we never lose sight of the fact that we have men and women fighting for us. Now, go and spend some time. AR will be here in 3 weeks.
good post John- this should be a great weather day as well, rain moved out a few days!!!
Thanks Geoff. Maybe we will see you out there.
