Halloween Pumpkin Contest at Windsor Place – Frisco, TX
About 2 months ago, my wife and I stepped up in our Homeowners Association. When we first moved to Texas, 4 years ago, our association had an event each month. Very slowly the events faded until this past year where we did not do anything. It’s a shame because our community is very family oriented and people would typically participate even if just for a short time.
We want to end the year strong, but that only gives us 2 ½ months. Seeing as this was a good opportunity, we held our 1st annual pumpkin contest. Out of the 184 homes within our community, we had 41 pumpkins entered into the contest.
I wanted to share some of the more unique pumpkins that entered the contest. Overall we had 6 winners: Scariest, Funniest, Most Original, Typical Jack-o-lantern, Prettiest, and Honorable Mention
Honestly, we did not have a ‘prettiest’ so we went with two ‘most originals’.
Not exactly sure what we will do for November and December, but it will be something. We did not expect such a great turn-out.

John - First, congratulations on being the person to step-up and initiate this. Too often people wish things were different but do not do anything to make them so. Second, great pics! I really like the dragon and the one at the bottom.
Erik - It was a lot of fun. We were not sure how many would participate. Based on the results, I think we could tell that people are ready for the HOA events. Im excited about the next few months and next year. We definitely have it within our budget.

Princess - We had such a good time and were so happy that so many people participated. Not sure what November has in store, but we will certainly have a big block party before the year is through.
Karen - The kids actually helped us judge the pumpkins. As you can see from the pics, it was dark so that we could check them out with candles. For those that were not hollow, we flashed the light on them. I too loved the skeleton pumpkin. It was one of my favorites! We actually had more pics, but I did not load all of them.
