I have not seen this video before. Its pretty darn awesome. I'll certainly be sharing it with my kids because its powerful when broken down the way that Red Skelton does it.

Mr. Skelton was an amazing comedian in his own right but there were times when he would become solemn, especially when he wanted to express something of great importance. This is one of those times and wanted to share this with all of you for this 4th of July weekend. This is a reminder of why we celebrate this great day in honor of those who fought and continue to fight for our freedoms. It still chokes me up when I listen to it. Enjoy!

John, I remember way back when, in the 1960's, when Red Skelton had a weekly program. He had an incredible wit, a charm all his own, and a very special way of working himself into the hearts of all of those who watched him. Have a great Fourth.

You know, we are in such a critical time in our country.
Patriotism is a very tricky thing in our current time.
We have some people who take patriotism to the extreme to the point where it creates prejudice against certain groups.
On the other hand, there are some people in this country to could care less about country, values, and respect.
If we could somehow find a way for patriotism to be reborn in a new, multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-demographic era, we sure would be alot happier.
