How often to you search for yourself or your website through Google, Yahoo, MSN, and most recently Bing?
According to statistics, Google is still the #1 search engine used. Seeing as Google is number one, I wanted to take some time to understand how SEO works.
A few months ago during a meeting with Loreena Yeo, she introduced me to Katerina Gasset (Coach Katerina) who is also a member of ActiveRain. For a small price, I learned a TON about Search Engine Optimization. And although nothing about SEO is black and white, I certainly picked up enough tips to be lethal in my area.
Shortly after my last class, I wrote a post called Blogging is Awesome because I was listed #2 on Google under one of my keywords. Since I have been out of class, I have written a few posts. My posts usually cover personal and business related items. So how have I been doing since the class? Good question, so I googled a few keywords to see where I exist.
Here is an example of my Google results for a Refinance in Frisco Texas. As you see, I am listed in 4 of the top 5. All are different sites/blogs, including my Mortgage Website which is listed as #5.
Another friendly search placed my blogs in the # 1 and # 2 spot for Home Loans in and around my area.
So I ask you... Do you think that Katerina's class is worth checking out? I would say YES! It was well worth my time and money. Blogging is GREAT! And it all started with ActiveRain!

Good results but I will bet you money that you are getting Google's "personalized" results because it looks like you are logged in to your Google account.
Try logging out of Google and then do the search again. I think you'll get different results. I had the same thing happen to me and I wrote a post about it.

John, That's an interesting point that Tim points out. I did the same thing and then logged under a different name and password. My results may differ though!

Donna - I learned a lot and since you are the type of person that likes to blog a lot also, you could really utilize some of her tips. It helped no only with my blog but with my website as well.
I agree Paul. I wasnt aware of the different results. As soon as I sign off here, I am going to try it out.
Shirley - I think that anyone who has a blog should take her class. There are small changes you can make in a post you have already written which can make a world of difference.
Robert - Its well worth the money. Plus, she is available if I have additional questions pertaining to the class. On top of that, she records all of the training sessions so you can always go back and listen to a top again later.
Sheila - Based on Donna's comment, looks like class may not take place until September but definitely look into it. She can share some other posts with you as well with other examples.
Naoma - Not too many people know about Wanna Network. I figure it will be my fault for sharing the site with others but it really has a lot of juice too. Im hardly in that site but need to focus more on building it up.

Tim - I signed out of Google to see what would happen. As you mentioned, it did switch things around. In one Keyword search, it improved by adding yet another site of mine. A second keyword search didnt change at all. And the last search did move me out of first but I was in second position. When checking in the future, I'll have to be sure I am not signed in. Thanks for the tip.
John, I have been doing my own SEO for years but I'm thinking about taking her class. I feel like I'm all over the place with my SEO. I emailed her but have not heard back. How do you sign up?
Marchel - The class did help me focus a bit more, so i am thankful for that. You probably will not reach her through the AR Contact option. You will want to send her a separate email try CoachKaterina(at)gmail.com I'm sure she will fill you in on the next available class. When I signed up, it was through her website, but the name escapes me right now. If you do not have any luck reaching her, let me know.

Thank you John. Katerina provides a lot of tools and its just a matter of implementing them. It also depends on your specific Niche. Im sure if I tried to do the same type of advertising in Dallas, I would not be as successful. Then I'd have to switch up my focus a little. Either way, the class itself was very informative.
