Let me get this right... FHA allows electronic signatures, but you still do not?
I could not believe it either when I heard back from an underwriter that the electronic signature on the sales contract was not valid to them. So, I had to go back to the Listing Agent and explain to them that in order to move forward I would need the sellers to sign all documents.
Well, you know how that conversation went... Sure, I could have switched lenders but the rate was already locked. Perhaps I do not deal with this lender enough and/or my percentage of 'electronic signatures' is low, but the condition on the loan caught me off guard.
Luckily, we are working with a great listing agent that is really understanding. I know there are only a small handful of lenders that do not accept the electronic signature. Now I know for next time. But come on lenders... FHA has stepped up, now its your turn. Get with the times!!
Do you work with a lender that still requires a real signature?
